Xiaomi - Snapdragon powered Xiaomi Laptops on Windows 10 S in 2018?

The leading global technology companies are coming up with featured Snapdragon powered laptops. As a part of the “Always connected” initiative, Microsoft and Qualcomm showed off the first-ever Snapdragon-powered Windows laptops. While HP and Asus unveiled their own Snapdragon 835-based offerings that would probably launch in the first quarter of 2018.

Reports suggest that Xiaomi will also join the Redmond’s ARM focused initiative in early 2018.

Xiaomi is a Chinese based electronics and software company headquartered in Beijing. It is the fifth largest smartphone manufacturer in the world. It offers services like design, development, smartphones, mobile apps, laptops and related consumer electronics. 

Xiaomi has already stepped its foot into the laptop market earlier in 2016. It has launched the Mi Notebook Air with sixth-gen Intel Core processors and offered two different screen sizes.

In earlier 2017, with certain modifications like 15.6 inch display, seventh gen processors, 4-G compatible variants and other was launched. The company’s interests in computers would have made them to test out ARM-based computers to provide consumers with a lighter design and longer battery life.

The Intel Core and Snapdragon processors have completely different architecture and technologies with one another. Xiaomi might move gently with the recent spaces just like building smartphones in a more robust form factor. It would most like come up with an affordable budget to compete with the manufacturers in the global market.

ARM processors has been used in the smartphones but Microsoft’s lightweight Windows 10 is capable of running smoothly on the same. Redmond decided to have a collaboration with Qualcomm to have a take over ARM architecture. The ultimate plans to attract users with a smaller form factors, cellular connectivity, processing powers and a long lasting battery life.

In addition to xiaomi, the reports also suggests that Samsung has also joined Microsoft’s ARM – focused initiative. It will come up with a Snapdragon 845 powered Laptop in the next year.
