Asthma is
chronic inflammatory destructive disease of airways, characterized by recurrent
paroxysmal attacks of dyspnea ( difficulty in breathing ), accompanied with
expiratory wheeze.
Ayurvedically
speaking, this condition looks like obstruction of pranavaha srotas ( trachea )
in pita stana ( chest region ) either by kapham or by vata (Vitiated Air) leads
to difficulty in breathing.
It affects about
5 percent of the general population. Roughly half of the cases have an onset in
the first decade of life, with males being affected twice often as females.

Symptoms :
Attack usually
starts at late night or in early morning. During attack, patient feels tightness
in the chest, difficulty in breathing expiratory wheeze, can’t able to lie
down.
Diagnosis :
- · Blood slight oosinophilia
- · X-ray of chest
- · ECH show Tachycardia
Treatment :
- · Abhyangam ( massage over the chest )
- · Karpooradi Thailam
- · Swedanam – Sedation over the chest region by towel bath
- · Virechanam – For vata anuloman occurs.
Medicines for 3 months :
- · Chitrakadi Vati
- · Thalisadi Chooranam
- · Swasananda Gutika
- · Pippali Rasayanam
- · Kanakasavam
Take these
medicines for 3 months and feel the betterment of the asthma.

- · Chevikutrikalam Varmam
If this
treatment is taken for 45 days, asthma can be cured completely.
