PCOD - Polycystic Ovary Disease.
It is a gynaecological disease. People with
PCOD have abnormal levels of hormones that can affect the menstrual cycles.
Around 5 - 10% of the womens suffer from
PCOD.
Causes
of PCOD :
- · Hormonal Imbalance.
- · Genetical
- · Greater Androgen levels
Symptoms
of PCOD :
- · Weight Gain
- · Hair Loss
- · Irregular Periods
- · Pelvic Pain
- · Anxiety
- · Stress
Diet for PCOD
- · 6.30 – 7.00 am : Ragi / Oats / Broken wheat porridge (Add milk to drink hot), (Add curd to drink cold).
- · 10 am – 11 am : Cucumber / Tomato / Sprouts mixed salad with curd / lemon / salt 300 ml cup.
- · 2 pm – 3 pm : 2 Chapathi (use dia flour) or 150 ml cup rice – 200 ml cup sabji with any vegetable, greens poriyal 200 ml cup.
- · 6 pm : 100 ml cup of sundal (boiled pulses) with salt / pepper. (Made of black channa dal, green gram dal with skin, any pulse with skin)
- · 9 pm : Whole urad dal dosai, Ragi dosai,Wheat dosai, Moong dal dosai.
Foods to avoid :
- · Fruits – Mango, Jackfruit, Custard Apple, Grapes, Sapota.
- · Vegetables – Potato, Beetroot, Yam, Varieties, Carrots.
- · Non Vegetarian foods : Chicken, Pork, Beef, Eggs yolk.
- · Eat on plenty : Guard, Vegetables, Greens, Beans Varieties, Banana stem, Mosambi, Guava, Semi-ripe Papaya, Watermelon, Blueberry, Fish, Egg white.
- · Use whole fruits instead of juices. Boiled vegetables instead of fries. Use little of low fat butter / cheese.
- · Low fat / milk / curd. Avoid Cane Sugar, can try Sugar substitutes. Drink ne glass water every 2 hours.
